Company update: Goodbyes and New Beginnings

As you may already know, Alto Marketing’s Founding Director, David Robinson is retiring at the end of July after 22 years of service to the life science, biotech and healthcare marketing communities. David founded Alto in 2002, and has grown the company from strength to strength through recessions and even pandemics – with a strong focus on delivering above and beyond customer service and excellence in science communications and marketing.
As we say goodbye to David with deep thanks for his dedication over the years, we take this opportunity to formally welcome our very own Dr. Kelly Buggy as Managing Director of Alto. Many of you will already know Kelly as an integral member of our team (and veritable ray of sunshine) for the past 10 years – delighting clients and colleagues alike.
Kelly’s background has its roots in Biochemistry, having completed both a BSc and PhD in the subject, with the latter focused on the study of biomolecular interactions via structural biology techniques. With a true love of science and a passion for communications, she was naturally drawn to the commercial world of biotech and science, and joined Alto in 2014. Since then, she’s worked with a multitude of companies from small start-ups to well-known brands, creating a wealth of impactful scientific content and successful marketing campaigns. Her drive, dedication, passion and, of course, sparkle made her the logical choice to take up the mantle and lead the company onwards.
With this in mind, both Kelly and David have been working hard in the background to ensure a seamless transition and guarantee consistency and stability for all our clients. And as we look to the future, this is also an opportune moment to reflect on who we are, what we’ve achieved and how we might evolve together.
We spoke to Kelly about what the future holds.
“I’m really excited to lead the team into our next chapter together. Looking back, I can say that Alto has always been, and will continue to be, centered on delivering confident and creative scientific marketing communications and strategy for our clients. Having worked at Alto for the past 10 years I know that this is a team that cares and genuinely loves what we do and who we do it with! We understand from our extensive experience that long term, proactive partnerships get the best results for everyone, which means that we go the extra mile and focus on what should be done and not just what could be done.
I’m keen to crystalise and carry forward these values to deliver even more for our clients – we’re aiming to propel life science, biotech and healthcare companies forward, supporting their vision to make a difference worldwide. We’ll do that by providing assured and reliable marketing communications and support and by working in collaboration—both with each other as a dedicated team, and in partnership with our clients—which is key to our human-to-human approach.
It’s our renewed aim to make the day-to-day lives of our clients easier, strengthening their teams and providing valuable resource and solid expertise to support them to make a difference and meet their goals.”
