Digital Marketing Executive

Permanent, Full time. £Competitive. Based near Southampton

Alto Marketing is fast-moving, full-service marketing communications agency. We specialise in B2B communications in science and healthcare and are looking to expand our scope in other sectors, including B2C. We offer an exciting and friendly working environment in great surroundings.

The role

A fantastic position for someone who loves all things digital and wants to get into, or develop their experience in, digital marketing. So if you’d love the opportunity to learn from our current team and become an expert in PPC/Google Analytics, e-marketing, web and social media, this is the position for you. Working with other team members and client account handlers, you’ll have bags of scope and opportunities to shine. The role involves:

Marketing Communications:
Implementing campaigns and keeping abreast of new issues/changes in digital communications especially PPC/Google Analytics. Also:

  • Managing email marketing software and reporting
  • Websites/microsite development. Updating WordPress sites and working with web developers to build sites; the more you can do the better!
  • Social media marketing

Also might get involved with:

  • Development of Prezi presentations and other digital marketing platform
  • App development (working with suppliers)
  • Video production (working with suppliers)

Marketing for Alto
Working with the management team and others to help with:

  • Website revamp – initially within current WordPress structure
  • Driving our e-marketing programme, ensuring we are regularly sending out great promotions according to the vision for new business
  • Managing and writing posts for the Alto blog
  • Social media
  • Possibly also reinvigorating our database – currently in ACT

Relationship Management:

  • Reporting to the Client Account Director and working closely with members of the team
  • Working with/liaising with suppliers and clients

About you

Personal attributes:

Qualifications:

 The role

We have a great new role for a talented and knowledgeable marketing communications specialist. Your heart lies in digital marketing (e-marketing, PPC/Google Analytics, web and social media), and you also have experience of more traditional media – print, exhibitions etc.

With bags of scope and opportunities to shine, from the outset the role involves:

Company marketing
Working with the management team and others, you will manage our new business activities including:

  • Website revamp – initially within current WordPress structure
  • Reinvigorate our database – currently in ACT
  • Driving our e-marketing programme, ensuring we are regularly sending out great promotions according to the vision for new business
  • Social media
  • Networking, proposal development and presentation to new business prospects and existing clients

Client campaign strategy:
Strong understanding and experience of planning and managing integrated marketing programmes.

  • Working with account handlers to devise client marketing communications projects and campaigns including targeting and message development
  • Monitoring/reviewing activity against objectives
  • Some quoting and invoicing

Marketing Communications:
Implementing campaigns and keeping abreast of new issues/changes in digital communications, with a particular focus on digital marketing especially:

  • Email marketing
  • PPC/Google Analytics
  • Websites/microsite development
  • Social media marketing

Also need to be able to understand and implement:

  • Advertising / media buying
  • Printed marketing collateral
  • Exhibition support
  • Video production

 Relationship Management:

  • Reporting to the Client Account Director and working closely with members of the team
  • Identifying new suppliers and resources for continued improvement of our business offering. Managing supplier relationships

About you

Personal attributes:

  • Strong interest and knowledge of digital marketing
  • Experience of traditional print media, graphics etc
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Focused on ROI
  • Ability to edit/write great copy
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Confident and enthusiastic attitude

There will be some UK travel.

Qualifications:         

  • Minimum of 4 years’ similar experience
  • Degree or similar qualification
  • Additional marketing qualification ideal

Account Manager

The role

A fantastic role for an experienced account manager and all-round marketeer who wants scope for personal development. Working with the Client Account Director and other colleagues, from the outset you will take on responsibility for varied marcomms and writing activities including:

Marketing strategy
Developing marketing communications proposals/presentations covering strategy and tactics, both for clients and new business prospects.

Account handling
Managing and prioritising concurrent projects in integrated content marketing programmes for a number of clients, ensuring activities are completed on time, on budget and on brief. Requires the ability to build excellent client and media relationships. Some travel (mostly UK).

Marcomms
Managing the creation of the following from the initial brief to completion:

  • Digital marketing campaigns (e-newsletters, AdWords, web content, online advertising)
  • Exhibition stands
  • Video production
  • Press advertising, advertorials/inserts
  • Direct mail
  • Marketing collateral
  • Websites/microsites

Content Marketing
Writing content for a broad range of communications including:

  • Case studies
  • Newsletters
  • Traditional PR: Articles and press releases
  • Sales material including brochures
  • Websites
  • Social media – mainly blogs/LinkedIn/Twitter

This might include proactively uncovering case studies, conducting interviews and then writing the piece. You must be able to understand the context and significance of quite technical subjects.

Media relations
Developing great relationships with our clients’ target media and pitching/placing articles

About you

Personal attributes:

  • Understanding and experience of a range of marketing activities (PR/content marketing, digital marketing, events, advertising, printed materials and social media)
  • Strong writing and communication/presentation skills
  • Excellent project management skills – prioritising & delivering multiple projects
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Confident, enthusiastic, can-do attitude, with a flexible working approach

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years agency experience
  • Degree or similar qualification
