We are currently recruiting for:

PR Account Manager/Senior Account Manager – Healthcare

We are looking for someone with a can-do personality who is a good writer and can take on responsibility for managing numerous writing and marcoms projects for clients from day one.

THE ROLE

Healthcare writing
Writing might include for example, interviewing a clinical laboratory manager who is using one of our clients’ products and turning this into an article for publication. You must be able to understand the context and significance of a story, then write about it matching the writing style with the needs of the client/journal. You will need to have proven experience of writing for a broad range of materials including:

• Press releases
• SEO PR
• Articles
• White papers
• Case studies
• Newsletters
• Reports
• Videos
• Websites/blogs
• Sales material including brochures

Media relations
You will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the key English language international healthcare/medical media.  You will be required to develop strong and trusted relationships with our clients’ target media through regular correspondence, telephone calls and meetings.  You will need to be confident in pitching articles and have a track-record of gaining targeted media coverage.

Marcoms
You will be required to support the healthcare team in the development of the strategy and tactics for clients’ and prospects’ marketing communications proposals.  You will be responsible for managing the implementation of integrated PR and marketing programmes ensuring activities are completed on brief, on budget and to schedule. This could include managing the development of the following from the initial brief to the completed piece:

• Email marketing (promotional emails and eNewsletters)
• Video production
• Press and digital advertising
• Advertorials/inserts
• Direct mail
• Marketing collateral
• Exhibition support
• Websites/microsites
• Social media activity

Account handling
This will include managing multiple PR and marketing programmes, ensuring activities are completed on time, on budget and on brief.  This could mean: proactively following up a client to uncover news stories that could be turned into press releases or articles; working with editors to secure article placements; drafting text and getting approval to publish. You will have the ability to manage and prioritise numerous concurrent projects with minimal input from more senior members of the team.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Hitting internal and external deadlines
• Effective work planning
• Proactivity
• Clear communication with clients and media
• General admin and other non-writing duties relevant to Alto Marketing
• Back-up writing resource to our life sciences team

There will be some UK travel and may be occasional European/international travel.

• Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and involvement from more senior members of the team
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Proven ability to prioritise and deliver multiple projects
• Confident and enthusiastic attitude
• Flexible working approach, including ‘mucking-in’ to support colleagues, working extra hours when needed and the ability to travel to client meetings (sometimes at very short notice)
• Understanding and experience of the full B2B marketing mix (PR, events, print/online advertising, web/e-marketing and social media)
• Excellent presentation skills
• Self motivated and reliable with a proactive approach
• Interest and understanding of healthcare issues, including the NHS

Qualifications:         

• Minimum of 2 years agency experience
• Degree or similar qualification
• Additional marketing qualification ideal
