Fresh! Issue 3 October 09
Have you started planning for 2010?
How quickly the year passes by! Here on the Alto marina we are starting to see the leaves change colour to a bright corporate orange and Halloween goodies are already in the shops. It won’t be long before Christmas arrives and the New Year is upon us. This change in the season is a perfect reminder to start looking ahead to 2010 and begin planning future PR and Marketing campaigns.
Already, we are receiving 2010/11 media packs from publishers, including proposed features for the coming year and our new digital marketing services are proving to generate promising leads for those clients already on board. In preparation for the new year we are offering all our clients a “2010 planning” session to start thinking about next year’s activities and new initiatives. All you need to do is contact your account team directly or register on our website.

Record breaking IBMS Congress 2009
Alice, Marketing Communication Executive, reports: Having now attended my third Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) congress, at the ICC in Birmingham, I was delighted once again to see a bustling and well supported show. Chris, Sarah and I were there for the start of the congress on September 28th and were very encouraged to see long queues of delegates at the registration desks.
A report on the registration figures show that this has been the most successful show to date, with delegates and exhibition numbers up nearly 15% compared to 2007. In the exhibition hall, and even along the corridors to the seminar rooms, there were an array of exhibitors displaying their latest clinical instrumentation through to microscopes, LIMS, reagents and consumables (and giving away a surprising amount of cupcakes!). The after show feedback has been great too, the British In Vitro Diagnostics Association (BIVDA) commented, “Congratulations to the IBMS on a highly successful Congress this week – this is what exhibitions should be like, with some exhibitors complaining they hadn’t brought ENOUGH stand staff!”. I’m already looking forward to 2011.
From time to time we hear of industry people looking for a change in employment. If you have a marketing/sales/business development vacancy, we may be able to put you in contact with a suitable candidate. Contact David or Chris with details.
Best regards
The Alto Team
