Chris completes charity trek!

To celebrate a significant birthday, Alto Director Chris Kiddy challenged herself to trek to the top of the 36th highest mountain in the world and at the same time raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust – Alto’s nominated charity for 2009/10. We are pleased to say Chris is now safely back in the office and has the following words for the readers of Fresh!
“This trek was indeed a physical challenge but also an unmissable experience. My inspiration was an amazing TCT fundraiser, a stunning girl called Nicole Dryburgh who had lost her sight, her hearing and then the use of her legs as a result of contracting cancer in her teens. Sadly, Nicole passed away just two weeks after I completed my trek but her zest for life and passion for TCT has motivated me in so many ways.
So a huge thank you to everyone who offered words of encouragement and motivation during my training and to those who advised (wisely) on the kit list! Thankfully the first aid kit was not opened! And a very big thank you to everyone who sponsored me with their kind and generous donations as I have now hit my fundraising target.”

Top 10 tips for using Twitter
When it comes to social media, no one “gets it” as well as Twitter. According to Econsultancy, as of Jan 2010, Twitter has 75 million user accounts, with about 15 million of that total being active users. That’s a lot of people sending a lot of Tweets. This micro-blogging service makes it easy for small businesses and entrepreneurs to stay in touch with those who choose to follow them, and stay updated on new products, services, special offers, industry news and more. It’s a win-win for both the Tweeter, and their followers.
When it comes to using Twitter, there’s a right way and a wrong way to use it… >>Read the full article

Marketing to a leaner NHS
With the NHS being tasked to deliver the government’s proposed £15-20 billion savings between 2011 and 2014, there are tough times ahead for organisations selling their products and services into the NHS. On Wednesday 19th May 2010, Director Chris Kiddy and Account Director Adrienne Walder presented at the “Marketing to a Leaner NHS” conference in Birmingham.
The conference was a practical event highlighting the challenges of marketing to a cost-conscious NHS. It addressed the potential impact of the planned changes and the ways in which companies can maximise their marketing and communications activity to engage with their NHS audiences and stand out from the competition. If you would like to discuss your particular healthcare marketing campaign, please contact Adrienne directly.

From time to time we hear of industry people looking for a change in employment. If you have a marketing/sales/business development vacancy, we may be able to put you in contact with a suitable candidate. Contact David or Chris with details.

Best regards
