Planning ahead for those Autumn events

Exhibitions, conferences, webinars and virtual events are an important part of any marketing programme. They provide an excellent opportunity to communicate your expertise and services to a captive audience. To make the most of your attendance at any event and to ultimately improve your visibility and lead generation, a well thought out plan of action is recommended. Afterall, with many relevant conferences and exhibitions requiring a large proportion of your marketing budget, the need to maximise return on investment is well recognised. If you are attending or holding any events during the next 6 months why not contact your Alto account manager and see how we can assist with your pre-show, on-site and post-event marketing?

Alto out and about

UKRC 2010
UKRC 2010 – the annual event for those involved in the field of radiological science – took place at the NIA & ICC, Birmingham from 7-9 June 2010. The event consisted of a three-day multidisciplinary scientific conference and technical exhibition.
The general feeling amongst exhibitors was that in the UK NHS purchasing has slowed down considerably since the election. Despite initial government pledges that there will be limited cuts to front line services, there are clearly concerns as to how the NHS will deliver the government’s proposed savings. There are tough times ahead for organisations selling their products and services into the NHS which reinforces the importance of standing out in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Many of the larger exhibitors are clearly watching the market to see whether their focus shifts slightly further towards the private healthcare sector or even looks towards alternative sectors such as veterinary, to boost future revenues. If you are looking at developing or adapting your UK marketing strategy in light of the recent change in government – Alto has extensive experience of working with organisations marketing products and services to the public, private and veterinary sectors.

Developing video content to promote your products and services
Since the introduction of broadband, streaming and viewing video online has become widespread. A quick search on YouTube reveals that over a million people have watched a video of open heart surgery, 9.7m have viewed a major healthcare organisation’s YouTube channel and 25,000 have seen how to use a particular brand of blood glucose monitoring system.
While the consumer has been leading the social media explosion with more people researching, for example, the hospital experience and consultant expertise via user-driven content online, businesses should now be looking to tap into this invaluable resource. Developing video content, for example, of medical equipment or devices in use, supported by testimonials from a customer or commentary from a clinician can make highly effective, very affordable promotional material. The completed video can be repurposed for use on your website, within email marketing campaigns, through direct marketing, within sales presentations or distributed via target media and online video portals.
If you are interested in finding out more about how we can help you become smarter about promoting your products and services through video content, please contact us.
