The Scientist, Jan-March 2012
The January issue is one of the most popular, featuring the Top 10 Innovation awards. The lab tools section will be focusing on Cell Separation/Flow Cytometry and they have a few sponsorship slots remaining for the daily newsletter in January.
February will get you bonus distribution at the Society for Laboratory Automation & Screening (SLAS) show and has topics such as Drug Discovery and Automation for Transitional Research.
March is the “jackpot” issue with 3 bonus distributions: Pittcon, ABRF (Biomolecules/Biotech) and AACR (Cancer Research). Topics include Biochemistry and Applying Genomics to Cancer Research whilst the Biobiz section will be on DNA Sequencing.

LabMedica’s Dec-Jan Yearbook & Buyers’ Guide Issue will be closing on December 12. This annual directory issue serves as an indispensable procurement tool for laboratory professionals, purchasing managers, government health agencies and dealers/distributors worldwide, on a year-round basis.

Alto team member has scientific paper selected by the Faculty of 1000
Congratulations go to Dr Paul Avery, PR Account Manager (Life Science) at Alto Marketing, whose paper ‘Drosophila Upf1 and Upf2 loss of function inhibits cell growth and causes animal death in a Upf3-independent manner’ (RNA 2011 Apr) was recently selected by the Faculty of 1000 for inclusion in its special interest, peer reviewed library. According to the Faculty, this puts the research in the “top 2% of published articles in biology and medicine”.
Getting your ‘tache on

I think I would not be alone in saying that, quite rightly, female specific cancers receive a lot of media attention and fund raising for research. It has long been said that male specific cancers lag behind in this arena, and Movember is our way of reaching out to raise money and awareness for Testicular and Prostate cancer.

The future of flow cytometry
A recent article in GEN has caught our eye, focused on what the future holds for flow cytometry. The author quite rightly states that the number of applications for flow cytometry is rapidly growing and encompasses a wide variety of areas including drug screening, immunophenotyping and intracellular analysis. Busy at a buzzing MEDICA
Alto Marketing team members Adrienne and Sarah have once again been out and about in Düsseldorf at MEDICA 2011 (+ sister show COMPAMED), and we can categorically confirm that this is an annual international trade show that is very much alive and kicking!

Easily accessible content available through the internet is changing how we all do business. The internet has levelled the global playing field for all companies, allowing even small companies to provide global offerings without the need for extensive physical infrastructure; a website is a truly valuable marketing tool.
