Media – What’s New?
The Scientist Video Awards 2009, in partnership with SciVee, for short video targeted to life scientists. Entries must be received by May 15, The Scientist will judge the entries (and ask their readers to pick their favourites), and announce the winners this summer, along with analyses by judges of what makes them great. There are two categories:
1) Individual – created with funding from an individual or single research grant
2) Institution – created with funding from a corporation or research institution
The rules of the contest are simple: All videos must be 7 minutes or less. All videos must be targeted to life scientists. Non-commercial videos only.
QMT. Brendan Coyne, the editor of Quality Manufacturing Today (QMT) magazine now has video showcase reports as part of his editorial coverage from exhibitions and product launches. These are hosted and fully searchable on their website www.qmtmag.com. The technology also enables advertisers to place their own videos or employ Brendan’s services to give their products increased exposure.
SpecChem Focus. DMG World Media will shortly be releasing a new product to run alongside Speciality Chemicals Magazine. This will be a new e-Newsletter ‘SpecChem Focus’ going to 30,000 magazine circulation. It will run on a fortnightly basis with the editorial placement costing £150 per story, with the main sponsor cost of £1000 per issue and the mini advertisers coming in at £500 per issue.
