Thermo Fisher Scientific Introduces Energy-Efficient Hazard Containment Units

2 March 2010 – New Fume Hoods Feature Directed Air Technology
ORLANDO: Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today introduced its new lines of Thermo Scientific Hamilton Infinity and Advantage Fume Hoods. With enhanced ergonomics for user comfort, these laboratory hoods are designed to address the ever-increasing requirements for safety, energy efficiency and aesthetics. This innovative new range of fume hoods can not only save on operating costs, but also maintain user safety while remaining environmentally friendly. The Hamilton Infinity and Advantage fume hoods incorporate unique “directed air technology.” This technology provides an airflow purge of the interior sidewall to enhance fume hood performance. The Thermo Scientific Hamilton Infinity and Advantage Fume Hoods will be exhibited at the Thermo Scientific booth 2757 at PITTCON 2010, being held February 28-March 5 in Orlando.

The Hamilton Infinity series features GreenFumeHood® technology utilizing Neutrodine® filters in place of traditional carbon filters to eliminate atmospheric pollution from the exhaust, minimizing building infrastructure and dramatically reducing energy consumption costs. Complete user assurance and filter replacement is provided via the Microsoft gGuard Communications* package, which offers real-time remote management capabilities.

With low-voltage LED lighting, minimal exhaust static pressure, and variable air volume (VAV) compatibility to minimize exhaust air when the sash is down, Hamilton Advantage™ Fume Hoods provide energy-efficient hazard containment. A full-height slanted front viewing area and side viewing panels enable simple and easy monitoring of precious samples, while a flush sill enhances safety by eliminating possible glassware tripping hazards. In addition, Hamilton AutoSash™ technology maximizes laboratory safety by ensuring correct sash positioning. An additional trough is positioned at the front of the unit to catch any spills.

The Thermo Scientific Hamilton Infinity and Advantage fume hoods are extremely ergonomic, with highly advanced safety and energy-saving features making them ideal for virtually any laboratory. For further information, please visit www.thermo.com/hamilton.
